COBEGA’S COOKIES POLICY

What are cookies and web beacons?

Cookies are small files or widely-used devices that are installed in the user’s browser for the purpose of storing, retrieving, or updating data. They allow the website owner to know the user’s preferences while browsing their site and personalize the services offered based on those preferences.

At COBEGA, we use both first-party and third-party cookies to perform usage analysis and measurement to ensure our websites function properly and to improve our services.

Web beacons, on the other hand, are similar technologies also installed in the user’s browser for different purposes. These are small graphic images (also called “pixel tags” or “transparent GIFs”) that can be included in websites, services, applications, messages, and tools. We only use first-party web beacons to track traffic.

Depending on their purpose, cookies can be:

  • Technical cookies:These are necessary for navigation. Without them, the website would not work properly (e.g., “user input” cookies for online shopping carts, media player session cookies, etc.).
  • Security cookies: These prevent or hinder attacks on the website or its users.
  • Analysis cookies: These allow us to measure user activity and create browsing statistics.

Controlling the use of cookies and web beacons

If you wish to delete cookies and web beacons already set on your device, you can do so from your browser. You can find instructions on how to do this in the help menu of your browser, which provides the steps for deletion.

The PHPSESSID cookie has no set expiration date and disappears when the website is closed.
  • LangSiteCobega: This cookie’s function is to display the website’s content in the language chosen by the user. Its possible values are “es” (Spanish) and “en” (English).
  • LeyCookiesCobega: This cookie is generated for all users who accept COBEGA’s cookie policy. It has a duration of 1 year.

2. Third-party cookies
