The group is currently being managed by the third generation of the family.
The founder
ExpandSantiago Daurella unveils the soft and carbonated drinks factory Bebidas Carbónicas D. Its network of distributors and licensees interests The Coca-Cola Company for the purposes of distribution in Spain.
Cobega is born
ExpandAs a result of the agreement with The Coca-Cola Company, Cobega S.A. is founded. Cobega becomes the first bottler of Coca-Cola in Spain and signs the first contract to sell the product in the country.
The 2nd generation drives expansion abroad
ExpandJosé and Francisco Daurella, the second generation of the family, join the new business. The company expands throughout Spain and subsequently abroad, especially in Africa. A significant business diversification plan is also launched.
The 3rd generation takes diversification to a new level
ExpandIn the 1990s, Sol Daurella, Mario Rotllant and Alfonso Líbano join the management of the Group. The family’s third generation remains loyal to the founding values of commitment and leadership. This period sees the continuous expansion of the business portfolio, with inroads being made into the coffee business.
Daba is founded
ExpandDaba becomes the exclusive distributor of Nespresso in Spain and it extends its operations to Andorra and several African countries.
Management of Grupo Cacaolat
ExpandThe portfolio is extended to the milkshakes segment. Grupo Cacaolat arises in 2012 as a result of the partnership between Cobega and Damm.
Coca-Cola Iberian Partners is formed
ExpandAfter a process of integrating the various bottlers in Spain and Portugal, Coca-Cola Iberian Partners is established.
Daufood is constituted
ExpandDaufood is Domino’s Pizza masterfranchise in Portugal. Through it, Cobega is present in the restaurant business.
Coca-Cola European Partners is formed
ExpandThe integration process deepens with the constitution of Coca-Cola European Partners, which results from the official union between Coca-Cola Enterprises, Coca-Cola Iberian Partners and Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke.
Daufood is growing
ExpandAustria, Czech Republic and Slovakia are now part of Daufood’s territories.
Daufood keeps on growing expanding into new European territories
ExpandBy adquiring Anatron Group, Daufood expands its portfolio in 9 new markets (Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, North Cyprus, Kosovo, Serbia, North Macedonia and Malta), being the largest Domino’s pizza master franchisee in the world in number of countries. Also, in 2019, Daufood was awarded with the Best World Master Franchise for the Greek market.
Daufood group receives new recognitions

Coca-Cola European Partners acquires Amatil Limited
ExpandBy means of the acquisition of Amatil Limited, one of the largest bottling and distributor of drinks and coffee in Asia-Pacific, Coca-Cola European Partners becomes one of the leading companies worldwide in theconsumer products market, covering 29 countries, 1.75 million clients, 600 million of consumers and 33,200 employees. Also, Coca-Cola European Partners changed its corporate name to Coca-Cola Europacific Partners plc.
Cacaolat is no longer part of Cobega Group.
ExpandAfter nine years of success, Cobega sells its stake in Cacaolat.
